The DGX300AD is the second in Yamaha's top-of-the-line Portable Grand series. This keyboard has 76 piano-size keys, 619 voices, and contains pretty much every other function available on any other Yamaha keyboard, including Yamaha Educational Suite, lots of auto-accompaniments, and a built-in sequencer and built-in floppy drive. This keyboard is tremendously easy to use, despite many complicated features. It's portable, and will keep novice and advanced musicians busy playing and creating music for a long time.
In our opinion, the sound quality from the speakers is not as good as the DGX200AD. We found the quality of the speakers on the DGX300AD on the weaker side, with the treble frequencies not as strong as the lower frequencies. The actual keys on the DGX300AD are more like piano keys than on lower-end keyboards. While still far off from feeling like real piano keys (there is not much "weight" or resistance to them at all), the keys are nice to the touch.

If having a built-in floppy drive is not as important to you, we would recommend going for the DGX200AD. It also has 76 keys, but they are not the piano-sized keys. If you are interested in a full-size keyboard (88 keys), you may want to look at the DGX500AD. Overall, the DGX300AD is a full-featured keyboard with a budget-friendly price--perfect for learning and music making. --Chris Fresolone
